It’s flipping cold!!

17 Jan

So, as usual, during weekend we went out to Willow to mom and dad’s house. I like to think their house kinda like a retreat πŸ˜€ Now we live in a small-ish house with my brother in law, so.. it’s pretty erm.. friendly :p

It feels good to stay a few days out in Willow, cause mom and dad’s house is really nice, spacious and tucked in the woods. Another thing about their house though…. it’s cold!! It’s usually like.. about 20 degrees colder than Anchorage!

When I was in Jakarta, I couldn’t imagine what it would like to be in 0 degrees C (let alone F!!). I always thought it would be unbearable. Well… water can freeze in 0C (32F), so why our eyeballs won’t freeze solid in our eyesocket, right? or… why our nose wouldn’t just snapped off? or… why our ears wouldn’t just freeze up and fall off? I know all of those scary scenarios won’t happen cause our body generate heat.. but still.. I can’t wrap my mind around it.

And now… 3 months has passed since that faithful day my hubby and I landed here, and I’ve grown tougher and tougher πŸ˜€

It was minus 33F last Sunday, and what we did? We went inside the hot tub πŸ˜€

With hats of course, I don’t want my ears to freeze and snapped off πŸ™‚

What a great blog! And yes! You have grown tougher and tougher. You’re adapting so well to Alaskan living. We survived the -33F hot tub so now we know we can do it. Gotta try, right?

yeah, it is amazing how fast our body can adapt πŸ™‚
before, when it was even only in the 30-ish, I would sprint to the hot tub..
Now, in the minus 33, I can just stroll to the tub πŸ˜€ Maybe my skin is getting thicker..kinda like a rhino πŸ˜€
